Are you a Customs broker who upset about no longer receiving an electronic copy of a CBP courtesy notice?  You are not alone.

Customs recently provided clarification regarding electronic notices in their August 18, 2022, CSMS #52984667 – Forms Courtesy Notice for Filers.  In this CSMS message Customs clarifies that the legacy ACE Portal Forms capability and the new ACE Forms Modernization Application were designed to deliver electronic CBP Forms 28, 29, and 4647s to importer ACE Portal accounts only and not to broker ACE portal accounts”.

To continue to receive electronic copies of Custom’s forms CF28 (Request for Information), CF29 (Notice of Action), and 4647 (Notice to Mark/Redeliver), there are certain steps both the importer and a broker need to take in the ACE Portal.  Once done, the broker will receive a copy of the notice via email.  However, if an importer does not have an ACE Account, the broker can not receive notice.  Read more here.
