NAFTA Shakeup Could Impact US Auto Industry

President Trumps proposed changes include requiring that vehicles have 85% NAFTA-sourced parts is under discussion, but talks are going slow. Mexico and Canada are the naysayers that are so far are unwilling to yield, but talks are expected to last into 2018. As it stands now, autos can transport without tariffs as long as they are made with 62.5% content from the three NAFTA nations. If the Trump administration has their way the proposed changes could signify the return of the U.S as a powerhouse in the car manufacturing industry and will bring in a new influx of jobs.
